Permanent Resident Card is a valid identification document issued by the Canadian government to prove that the holder is a permanent resident of Canada. When the permanent resident card expires or is lost, you need to apply for a replacement or renewal.


When I need to apply for a permanent resident card

If you meet the following conditions, you can apply for permanent resident card

1. Your first permanent resident card(Normally it comes with the application and there is no additional cost on it)

2. You current permanent resident card expired or will expiry in less than 9 months

3. You did not receive your first card within 180 days of immigrating to Canada

4. Your permanent resident card is lost, stolen or damaged

5. You need to update your name, citizenship, gender, date of birth etc.


Prerequisites for applying for permanent resident card

1. When you apply for a new permanent resident card, you are a permanent resident of Canada and fulfill your residence obligations.

2. Generally, the application for permanent resident card must be made and submitted in Canada, except specific conditions.


Residence obligation for permanent resident of Canada

1. Living in Canada for at least 730 days (two years) during the last five years. Each day you were not physically in Canada may be counted if you,

a. Accompany a parent, spouse or common-law partner overseas and the person is a Canadian citizen

b. Employed on a full-time basis by a Canadian business, a Canadian federal or provincial public service department and is temporarily transferred to work in overseas countries

c. Accompany a parent, spouse or common-law partner overseas who is a permanent resident, and the person is as described in b.

2. No criminal record

3. Not deportation order issued

· Inform the client of the progress and status of his visa application;

· Handle all communications with IRCC on behalf of the client;

· Act as the liaison between the government of Canada and the client;


Cost:

Professional fee: please contact us for professional fee.

Government application fee: $50 for processing card and $85 for biometrics collection (if applicable).

Other expenses: document translation expenses, mailing expenses, photos, etc.
