Visitor Visa

Applicants need to obtain a visitor visa before they travel to Canada or transfer at Canadian airports.

The Canadian visitor visa allows applicants to enter Canada for travel and vacation with valid identification documents. Each entry into Canada shall not exceed 6 months.

Some nationalities need to apply for Electronic Travel Authorization, not visitor visa before travelling to Canada. Please refer to Electronic Travel Authorization for more details.

General eligibility for applicants to apply for a visitor visa:

1. Have a valid travel documents, such as passports

2. Be in good health

3. Have no criminal record or immigration related conviction

4. Prove that you will return to your original country after the trip, such as work, family, assets, etc

5. Have enough funds for your stay

What you can and cannot do with a visitor visa:

1. Under normal circumstances, visitors are not allowed to study or work in Canada.

2. Under certain circumstances, a visitor can study a short-term course within 6 months in Canada. Please consult us for details.

3. Under certain circumstances, a visitor can study in a study program (such as a language course) within 6 months in Canada in order to step into a program of a designated learning Institution in Canada.

4. Under normal circumstances, a visitor can only apply for a work permit outside Canada except public policy announcement.

From August 24, 2020 to February 28th, 2023, a visitor can apply for employer-specific work permit in Canada. The application conditions are as follows:

1. You must be physically present in Canada when apply

2. You apply your employer-specific work permit between August 24, 2020 and February 28, 2023.

3. You obtain a job offer from a Canadian employer, and the work is genuine;

4. The employer has a positive labour market impact assessment or LMIA exemption

5. Meet the general eligibility of work permit applications

Government application fee: $100 for visitor visa application, $7 for Electronic Travel Authorization (if applicable), and $85 for biometric fingerprint information collection.

Other expenses: medical examination, document translation expenses, mailing expenses, etc.
