To work in Canada, you need to apply for a Canadian work permit. The applicant obtains a work permit in compliance with Canadian immigration laws and regulations.


Canadian work permit classification: open work permit, employer-specific work permit

Open work permit: the employer of the work are not specified, and the applicant can choose position and employer as they wish except for an employer:

· who is listed as ineligible on the list of employers who have failed to comply with the conditions, or

· who regularly offers striptease, erotic dance, escort services or erotic massages.

Employer-specific work permit: the work permit allows you to work according to the conditions on your work permit, which include:

· the name of the employer you can work for

· how long you can work

· the location where you can work(if applicable)


Advantages of Work Permit holders

1.You are eligible to apply for some benefits, such as provincial medical insurance cards, child care benefits, etc.

2. You can apply for permanent resident in Canada if you have one year of work experience and meet other immigration eligibility.

3. Your spouse may be qualified for spouse open work permit

General Requirements for applying for a Canadian Work Permit

In general, the requirements for applying for a work permit include:

1. You obtain a genuine Job offer from a Canadian employer for employer-specific Work Permit

2. Your employer has obtained a positive Labor Market Impact Assessment (not applicable if you are exempted from the Labor Market Impact Assessment)

3. You will leave Canada when you work permit expires.

4. You have enough fund to support you and your family living in Canada

5. Abide by the law and have no criminal activity

6. No danger to Canada national security

7. You and your family members are in good health

8. Provide other supporting documents if applying for Employer-specific Work Permit

Government application fee: $155 for work permit application, $100 for open work permit and $85 for biometrics information collection.

Other expenses: Education Credential Assessment, language examination, medical examination, document translation, courier service, no crime record certificate etc.
